If you need to spend some time away from the Avenue, you can use an upgrade called "vacation mode" to lock or freeze your dividend payout for a chosen amount of time.
Currently, you can choose a vacation of 7, 14, 21, and 28 days.
According to the Empire Avenue Shop page, while you're on vacation mode:
- You will not be able to buy and sell shares in others
- Others will be able to buy and sell you which will affect your share price.
- You will pay dividends based on your average dividend prior to setting vacation
- You will continue to receive dividends from others.
- You can take up to 28 days of vacation in a 365 day period and vacation will be immediately after you purchase the upgrade.
